Reverse engineering is used in different areas such as firms renewing the products in their hands and generating archieves for these products, keeping the current condition of the moulds in the computer environment to be reproduced for feature uses, replication of archaeological findings and artworks, prothesis development in medical sector, product development in defense industry, design and improvements for the moulds and fixtures.
These projects are based on optical scanning and the point clouds obtained from this scanning process. Developing surfaces from the point clouds, generating 3D CAD datas with the sensitivity beginning from ±0.05 mm for the moulds and fixtures.During the project; done for product development, problems associated with the production are fixed , changes are applied , new product and improved version presented to the customers. This process is being used widely by Automotive , durable goods, defense industry and sub-industries and many other firms to shorten the product development duration and gaining sensitivity and quality.
